My 2 oldest brothers both served in vietnam. My oldest brother Larry was drafted into the army at 18. He was hit by a handgranade, then his medical helicopter was shot down bringing him to the med site. He is now 55 and having a hard time with it. Would like some advise from a Vietnam Vet. Also would like to thank all of you for fighting for our country. WE LOVE YOU ALL

I SERVED IN VIETNAM 1967-1968-1969. I WAS IN THE USMC IN 1ST RECON AREA OF DA NANG. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANY ONE WHO MIGHT HAVE BEEN IN THE AREA THE SAME TIME AS I. RONNIE POTTS.....PLEASE CONTACT ME OR ANYONE KNOWING OF US. I'VE ALWAYS KEPT THINGS INSIDE OF ME AND NOT TALKED ABOUT MY DUTIES WHILE SERVING OUR COUNTRY BUT IT'S TAKEN ME THIS LONG TO BE ABLE TO TALK ALOUD. I JUST RECEIVED MY PURPLE-HEART AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND I FEEL "HONORED"!

My father served in '69-'70, and has told me some of the stories which I could tell was hard for him. He felt that I deserved to know how it REALLY was. I have an appreciation for you guys and what you have done (or didn't get to do). And thanks to the guy who dragged my dad "Buddy"(from Va. Beach) from under a comm tower during an ambush on Christmas Day (all he had was a .45 and half his left leg) I wouldn't be here if it werent for you. (My dad never caught his name)

Looking for anyone who knew my uncle or was in his unit. His name was Dennis Carl Shively, he did one tour, and was killed in action in Quang Nam 3/24/1968. He was a Lance Corporal in the Marines I'm not sure about his unit. Any info would help alot.

I thought this was a wonderful site. I am a history student working on a paper comparing the experiences of American and VC soldiers and I really found the pictures of both especially fascinating. (My grandfather, Charles Haymons, served two tours of duty in Vietnam, but I don't know exact dates.) Thanks to all.
