I served in VN in 1969. I was a Hospital Corpsman attached to the first marine division. I was stationed South of Danang and was sent to a place called LZ Baldy.
I pretty much have blanked out most of the people that I seved with because I was severly wounded by Mortor Fragments and sent home shortly after we arrived at LZ Baldy. A Corpsman patched me up and gave me some money to spend in Danang, That I am sure is the only way I survived the horrific wounds I recieved.
I would give anything to be able to contact him and let him know how greatful I have been for him saving my life oh these many years ago, I give thanks to god for my health and the sacrifice our boys made in the many wars that have been fought for our freedom.

Served with 3/7 Marines, 69-70, H&S Co., 81 mm Mortars. I'm looking for David Villareal, Company F.O., last known (1970) - Casa Grande, Arizona. Dave, if your'e out there, I have a really cool picture of you, "Shorty" and me on a "mule".The picture was taken at L.Z. Baldy. I've also got pictures of "Pops" Bourne (Indiana) on the gun, and "Tommy" Sawyer passing out candy to the local kids. I also have a picture of me doin a "J" on a truck in the Da Nang area, after a 12 hour field-pass. You were there, do you remember lining up for the Red Cross phones to call home?
I'm currently working as a PTSD assessment counselor in the Boston area.I can't say that I love it, but it's something that I understand. Over the past 34 years I've had 17 jobs, two marriages, 2 kids (lost), and have 6 grandchildren (never seen). Don't know how my wife puts up with me (God bless her!!!). Ain't life a bitch? It don't mean nothin, I guess.
Dave. if your'e out there and read this, PLEASE contact me! Maybe we can track down "Shorty" (N.J.), Pops" (Indiana), "Chief" (Pema tribe, N.M.), "Slick" (Gary, Indiana), and "Tommy" (Long Island))
Love and Peace, "Rico" - "Tin Toy La Rico"

It would be with out question, for me as a student and many others, a list of online books necessary for this web page. Were we don't have the need to go to a library inorder to find a book, but were at home it could be easily used. This would be a great help to maintain some kind of knowledge provided for future use. Thanks for taking this a comment.

I'm a high school junior, and I had to do a 10 page paper on any US History event prior to the Gulf War, and I picked the long term effects on the people involved with the vietnam war. This site played a huge role in my research. Thanks a lot!

I am currently a SFC serving in the Army, but I was never in Vietnam. My 11 year old daughter is doing a project in school and chose the Vietnam War as her subject. I was doing a web search to help her collect information when I found your website. I am hoping to find some information that she will be able to understand. Thank you.
