I was stationed at Panama Control ATRAC Monkey Mountain 1972nd Comm Sq from May 68 through May 69. I had crossed trained from a 273 to a 272. I loved hassling the Zeros on the dias next to me. One day the ASW was on the plot board guys for not keeping the plots up to the minute and I made a comment about it and was challenged to do better. I was on the board by myself for an hour and they threw everything the could at me and in the end I was told I was great on the board. I lived in the hooch with the patio. We tried to build a sail boat out of a sampan, made freeboards from 3/4" plywood and part of a parachute for a sail. All went to hell when we got out in the harbor and had to be rescued. I remember some names like TSGT Catlin, MSGT Byron (last name unknown) and other great guys. If anyone remembers me or the other folks, please let me know.
