Just wanted to point out that the war wasn't just between America and North Vietnam. Once again the South Vietnamese have been all but neglected.

I am a Vietnam Vet trying to help a 34 year old woman find her father. She was born to a Vietnamese mother in 1971 in Vietnam. Her father was stationed with U.S. Army at Dong Ha in 1970-71 possibly with the 8th Bn 4th Artillery. He was called "Benny" and may have been a mechanic. Please email me if you have any information. She only wants to find him. Nothing more. She is a U.S. citizen and came to the U.S. in 1991.

In-country Feb '70- Jan '71. w/ 1st Logistic Command SP, Long My, and 8th MP Grp(CI) in Qui Nhon.
Many details, such as peoples names, units, and locations, have escaped me. The experiences, good and bad, are still very fresh in my mind, as if they happened last week instead of a bizarre time long ago.

I am trying to find members of the FIRST BATTALION (MECHANIZED) FIFTH INFANTRY TWENTY-FIFTH INFANTRY DIVISION IN THE VIET NAM WAR CO B 1968. MY UNCLE PAUL E. MCGINNESS WAS KILLED IN ACTION. HERE IS AN EXERPT FROM THE WEB SITE:
On October 19, 1968, at 1115 hours, while sweeping through an area south of the Ben Cui Rubber Plantation at XT 456419, one Bobcat from Company B was killed and another was wounded when a booby trapped RPG round was detonated. About 500 meters to the west, the Recon Platoon located a small food and ammunition cache.
I am just trying to learn more about him and the day he sacrficed his life for our country.
Thanks Dan McGinness
