In country from November 1970 to November 1971. After a short time training as an air traffic controller at HHQ 101st Airmobile Division DaNang I was re-assigned to Bravo Company, 326th Med. Phu Bai / Hue. I have been asked to speak to our local high school US History classes about my personal experiences while in country. My dad was in Vietnam and died when i was 2. I would like to learn a little bit about him. I never met him, and i was not allowed to go to his funeral. his name was Silas Thomas. If anyone knew anything about him please get in touch with me via e-mail.

Observer with A Co 1/505 from Nov 68 to May 69
then XO with A Btry 2/321 til Nov 69.
Spent 16 mos. in Germany then back to Vietnam
with the 1st Air Cav as Air Observer then Btry
Commander with 1/5th from Apr 71 to Mar 72.

1969-1970. 1st Calvary Division (Airmobile) 1st of 5th. Dates of Service May 69 thru May 71.
Have a nephew over in Iraq now. Very proud of both. Want to thank them and all Vets for keeping our country safe.

Served in Vietnam with USMC 1966-67 with 3-11 attached to 1-7 as a Forward Observer. Have returned to Vietnam 8 times since 1998, giving bikes away to needy familes. God bless the U.S.A.

Served in Vietnam from December 1968 to January 1970. My last duty assignment was with the 6th Battalion, 11th (On Time) Artillery in Duc Pho.

I am interested in the history of the U.S. Army involvement in Vietnam bacause my husband served there in the Tet Offensive. He is deceased now and I never found out all I wanted to know.
