I was asgn to RVN 62-64 at Qui Nhon as an advisor. I was asgn in Saigon 67-68 as a traveling advisor to VNAF. I went to every location VNAF had troops with American Advisors. I flew on just about anything going the way I needed to go. Retired from the USAF as an E9 on 1 Dec 82 w/22 yrs svc. I wrote a book on my USAF career and it was published in Feb 2010. Title is Mother, Please Let Me Go. It can be found at Xlibris.com/MotherPleaseLetMeGo.
There is ana excerpt at that location as well. My next book titled "A Salute to the Nurses of Vietnam" is due out late this year. It is dedicated to all the nurses (male and female) that served there or on one of the hospital ships from 1959 to 1975. I need photos of US Medical Facilities in RVN and some of the nurses that served there as well. I have six other brothers retired from the military and between all my brothers and myself we have over 170 years total military service to our country. My email in OH is [email protected]. My email in FL is [email protected]. My phone number in OH is 740-742-3033. My phone number in FL is 352-754-3016. My address in OH is 36008 St Rt 143, Pomeroy, OH 45769. My address in FL is 27357 Frampton Ave, Brooksville, FL 34602. If you have photos of medical facilities we used in RVN I would appreciate you emailing them to me. I also need photos and stories of the nurses that served there. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. A fellow Vet, HD Graham

Looking for someone who can verify that the 1883 Communications Squadron, Phu Cat AFB, Vietnam had a detachment at the undersea cable head at Qui Nhon. This facility was a small compound on a hillside overlooking Qui Nhon, its slums, and Qui Nhon Bay. I'm having a pissing (excuse the language but seems appropriate for this issue) match with the VA and U.S. Joint Service Records Research Center. They claim there is no record of any such detachment so I couldn’t have been stationed there. I swear that is where I was during 1969-70 but guess that whole year plus all these years since I was or have been hallucinating.

During my tour, for most of the time there where 3-4 USAF communications specialists, 2 US Army communications specialists, and two USAF people who mantained the power generators and battery banks.

I just found a signature and comments by William Gibbard on page 256. He was asgn at Qui Nhon 64-65 with the Aviation Unit. His email is no longer correct. Friend William, if you are out there some place, please email me at [email protected] or better yet, call me at 740-742-3033. If you don't get an answer, please leave me a message and I will get back with you; a promise you can bank on. Sure hope you read this. I was at Qui Nhon 62-64 and then several short TDYs up to 12Feb65 with the USAF Advisory Det that was wiped out when their billeting complex was destroyed on 14Feb, killing all my friends and totally wiping out the USAF presents at Qui Nhon. I really need to talk about this. A Fellow Vet, HD Graham
